The featured article this month is a discussion of a house built by local politician G.V. Lawrence on the 500 block of Main Street which by the late 1880’s housed Mary M. Lindsay Scott’s Monongahela Academy. Also included is our upcoming tour of Brownsville, Pa., a welcome to our new librarian Amy Riegner and an invitation by Mark Smith from the Mid Mon Valley Academy of the Arts to high school aged musicians interested in playing in a Jr. Big Band group. These are paid positions. Requirements: able to read music and play a “big band” instrument.
