Our Main Street Adopt-A-Planter project is moving along! The concrete planters along Main Street are being replenished with new soil and are almost ready to be planted once the threat of frost passes. The planning meetings for the Adopt-A-Planter team have involved representatives from (or interaction with) the City of Monongahela, MARC, the Sister Cities Committee, the Monongahela Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Washington County Master Gardeners Program. The committee advertised online that they were looking for volunteers to team up and plant and water one planter per team. In a two-hour period, eleven teams were formed, plus some others who were placed on a waiting list.
